LGBTQI+ Voices

Amplifying Rights Through Film

“LGBTQI+ Voices: Amplifying Rights Through Film” is an Erasmus+ project developed within the framework of Small-scale partnerships (KA210) in the youth sector.

About

LGBTQI+ Voices

The project was created in response to the ongoing challenges faced by LGBTQI+ communities across Europe, including discrimination, social exclusion, and a lack of awareness in many local contexts.

At its core, the project explores the power of audiovisual storytelling as a tool for social change. By combining non-formal education, intercultural exchange, and digital creativity, the initiative empowers young people and youth workers to become active promoters of inclusion, equality, and human rights.

Introduction

The training course “Empowerment Through Film: Videomaking for Social Change” was implemented within the Erasmus+ KA210-YOU project “LGBTQI+ Voices: Amplifying Rights Through Film” , an initiative designed to address discrimination against LGBTQI+ individuals and promote inclusion through innovative, creative methodologies.

Hosted in Tropea, Italy, from 26 September to 2 October, the activity brought together young people and youth workers from Italy, Spain, and Poland, representing the partner organisations Associazione Trivalente, High on Life Spain, and SIR.

The training represented a central moment within the project’s implementation, translating its strategic objectives into a concrete learning experience.

By combining human rights education with practical videomaking, the activity aimed to equip participants with both the critical awareness and the technical tools necessary to become active promoters of social change within their communities.
